About the project

Joint campaign between Skinfood NZ and Melanoma NZ aiming to develop Melanoma Cancer awareness in New Zealanders.

According to statistics from the NZ Ministry of Health, over 4.000 people are diagnosed with melanoma every year in New Zealand. Melanoma is the most serious type of skin cancer and it can progress quickly, hence the importance of its early detection and treatment.

In order to introduce in an appealing manner, a sensitive topic such as skin cancer, an awareness campaign was developed by presenting a game, where participants could play and receive skincare products and information about melanoma.

The conceptual approach of the campaign through the game is by relating the idea of removing skin disease like players do with the dots in game. By playing a game that rewards speed to solve it, links conceptually with melanoma's early detection, therefore viral video campaign's name and game also reflects the benefit of it: "The Spot that can save Your Life".
